Tarlac State University is recognized as the Top Performing School by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for the August 2026 Criminologists Licensure Examination (CLE) during the Oathtaking Ceremony for New Criminologists held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City on October 11, 2026.

All 88 examinees from TSU passed the CLE under the "With 51 to 100 Examinees" category, earning a 100% institutional passing rate while surpassing the 57.57% passing rate nationwide.

The award was received by University President Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza and College of Criminal Justice Education Dean Dr. Roel R. Alviar.

In 2017, 2018, 2022, 2024, and 2025, TSU was also the top-performing school in criminology.

According to Dean Alviar, the university has been recognized as the Top Performing Criminology School from 2016 to the present.

Dr. Alviar attributed the program’s results to its preparation of students for the licensure examination, particularly through mock board examinations conducted for third- and fourth-year students.

He noted that discipline applies not only to students but also to faculty members, a factor contributing to the program’s performance.

The college also implements devotion programs that provide students with spiritual guidance.

“Maraming salamat sa suporta ng [administration], lalong-lalo na kay President Jasper at sa buong administration for the continuous support sa ating CCJE, and we are praying na patuloy ang suporta. Promise naman namin , habang kami ay nandito sa CCJE, ay patuloy na magbibigay ng prestige dito sa ating university,” Dr. Alviar told OPA.

The event was organized by the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology and the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PCAP).
