TSU, LBP explore cashless campus initiatives

The Land Bank of the Philippines Central Luzon Branches Group presented its campus cash-lite program, products, and services to Tarlac State University President Jasper Jay Mendoza and heads of the Office of the Vice President for Administration on June 2, 2026 at the Main AVR.

LBP promotes a cashless campus through its expanded campus cash-lite program, offering financial literacy sessions on cybersecurity, financial inclusivity, and access to banking services.

President Mendoza seeks to maximize the university’s partnership with Land Bank through the use Land Bank's ATM system to distribute scholarship grants, subsidies, and other allowances to scholars.

LBP delegates were led by Assistant Vice President Maila Veronica Co, Branch Head - Tarlac Branch, and First Vice President Anthony Evan Lluch. Other team members included Ms. Joanne Salangsang, Marketing Officer, Central Luzon Branches Group, and Ms. Ivy Mallari, Branch Head - Tarlac Mc Arthur Highway.

President Mendoza also requested the installation of disbursement machines at the Lucinda campus, the Main campus, and soon at the San Isidro campus for students' and employees’ convenience.

Ms. Salangsang also reintroduced the Piso Account. Students can use this account for canteen meals, Lucinda shuttles, and the San Isidro Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA). She said they will find a way to add QR Code stickers once they are implemented to ensure smooth, easy transactions.

She also presented several employee insurance plans. These include Cocolife Group Insurance, pet insurance, personal accident insurance, ATM protection at an affordable rate, an electric salary loan for permanent employees, an easy home loan, and a mortgage loan available to employees.
